  • Mike Doolan on Drinagh Rangers’ double success
    2026/04/08

ON THIS week's podcast, we’re joined by Drinagh Rangers women’s team manager Mike Doolan after they completed the West Cork League and Cup double.

Rangers defeated Lyre Rovers in the cup decider in Brinny 3-2 to put a seal on a remarkable campaign.

Drinagh only let in six goals across league and cup competitions as their defence held firm. Their attack was just as good as they struck three vital cup final goals.

Doolan gives his thoughts on their season, the women’s game and Drinagh Rangers being on a high as a club.

Also on the show, we look back at Cork’s disappointing national hurling league final defeat to Limerick.

Championship is the focus now for Ben O’Connor’s men and a clash against Tipperary on Sunday, April 19th.

For John Cleary’s footballers, their championship throws-in this Sunday as they welcome Limerick to Páirc Uí Chaoimh (2pm).

Cork will be favourites to reach the Munster final with only Division 4 sides standing in their way.

The Cork LGFA team are in league final action this Saturday (5pm) in the Gaelic Grounds when they face Galway.

  • Reflecting on Cork’s Division 2 final defeat
    2026/04/01

ON THIS week's podcast, we look back at Cork’s Division 2 football final defeat against Meath last Sunday in Croke Park, 1-22 to 2-17.

A disappointing end to what was a league campaign where they earned promotion back to Division 1.

The main goal of promotion was accomplished but there is parts of the national final where Cork will regret not taking home the silverware.

A Munster championship awaits for John Cleary’s side this month.

Also on the show, we chat to South West Coastal Yawl Rowing Association chairperson Michael Walsh about this year’s Southern Star South West Rowing Schools’ Regatta.

This event will take place on Friday, May 1st in The Lagoon in Rosscarbery and is ideal for schools in West Cork to take part in.

A chance to row with your classmates, represent your school, learn new skills and work as a team, Walsh explains why schools should take part in this event.

ON THIS week's podcast, we are joined by former Cork footballer John Hayes following the Rebels promotion to Division 1.

These are good times for the Leesiders as they face into the top tier for the first time since 2016.

Their 0-22 to 0-19 victory over Tyrone in Healy Park, Omagh has resulted in John Cleary’s side competing for national silverware this Sunday in the Division 2 final.
