  • How to Have a Bilingual, Multi-Cultural Wedding
    2026/05/26

Weddings are about bringing together two people. And those people often bring with them their own families, cultures, languages, customs, religions, traditions and more! So how do you fuse those things together into one cohesive wedding? How do you honour your Japanese culture and your partner's Spanish culture? Do you do your ceremony in Italian or Swahili? Do you serve paella or fried rice? Do you wear a sari or a kilt?

In today's episode, I'm giving my thoughts on how you can plan a bilingual, multi-cultural wedding that feels cohesive and inclusive. It's not about making sure all of your cultures/traditions are represented 100% of the time, rather it's about choosing meaningful moments to honour your new family and your family of origin.

Listen in as I share ideas for how to incorporate multiple cultures at your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, before and after your wedding!

  • How to Tell Your Family That You’re Not Having a Traditional Wedding
    2026/05/12

More and more couples are choosing non-traditional and unconventional paths for their weddings. They're eloping, not wearing white dresses and black suits, not inviting their extended family, not blowing their life savings on one day, writing their own vows and writing their own rules. So if you've made choices for your wedding that break from tradition but feel right for you, congratulations! Now how do you break that news to your family?

In today's episode, I'm talking about how we got to this place where modern couples are so far away from what their parents feel about weddings. I'll dive into eight strategies to share your wedding planning news with your parents. I'm also jumping into how to deal with your family's pushback, including what to do if they keep trying to get you to change your mind, refuse to give you any money, or even threaten to not attend your wedding!

  • How to Make Your Wedding Guests Feel Like They Matter
    2026/04/14

It's one thing to want your guests to have a good time at your wedding. It's another thing to actually design a wedding around your guests, that involves them in the day and proves to them how much you value them as part of your wedding day and part of your life.

In this episode, I'm following up last week's with more ideas on how to engage your guests on your wedding day, connect with them and make them feel like participants on the day, rather than just bystanders. Last week we went over ideas for your pre-wedding and ceremony and this week we'll tackle cocktail hour, reception and post-wedding.

This isn't about spending more money or more time trying to impress your guests. This is about making your loved ones feel loved and like you actually wanted them at your wedding!

  • How to Actually Connect With Your Guests at Your Wedding
    2026/04/07

We all want our guests to have a good time at our wedding, to feel connected by our love story and like they really matter on the big day. But how do you actually make that happen? How do you get your guests involved in your wedding so they feel like part of it, rather than just witnesses to what's happening? How do you take them from a bored audience watching a show to engaged loved ones you actually get to spend time with? And how do you do it all without blowing your budget or adding a million things to your wedding to-do list?

In this week's episode, I'm diving into what connecting with your wedding guests really means and how you can start designing a connective wedding from the early planning stages. I'll share tips for how to involve your guests in your pre-wedding events and your ceremony, then come back in the next episode with tips for the rest of your wedding day.
