In the summer of 1992, Luna's aunt hired her to strip wallpaper from a vacant Victorian on Elm Street in Red Clay, Tennessee. The house had been empty for years, but the master bedroom's wallpaper was still pristine—pale green with silver vines that seemed to move in peripheral vision.
