  • Episode 73: What Pastor Joel Wishes He Knew at 20: How Money Works and How People Grow
    2026/05/07

Have you ever dreamed of hearing what a pastor wished he would have known when he was 20? You're in luck! Host Emily brings on her church's lead pastor, Joel, to share two skills to learn as early as possible: how money works and how to grow spiritually (or how to develop your character).

Both of these are exponential in their impact. If you understand how money works early, you make wiser decisions, you invest sooner, and over time it buys back one of your most valuable resources — time. And in the same way, when you learn how to pursue spiritual formation and character growth early, it compounds into healthier relationships, greater effectiveness in your calling, and a deeper sense of joy and contentment in life. There really aren’t two areas that shape the trajectory of a person’s life more than these.

Join us for a conversation with Joel's story — what he didn’t understand when he was younger, what he wishes someone had told him, and some practical pathways for growth in both areas.

  • Episode 72: How One Florida Idea Deepened Our Marriage (and Made Us Laugh)
    2026/04/21

What started as a fun idea in Florida turned into a social media video… and now a full podcast episode!

In this episode, Joe and I share one of our favorite date night ideas—asking each other intentional, funny, and sometimes surprising questions. This simple practice has helped us connect deeper, laugh harder, and learn things about each other we didn’t even realize we didn’t know.

Whether you’re newly married, dating, or years into marriage, this episode will give you easy questions to ask, prompts to spark meaningful conversation, and permission to keep things light and fun. Grab your spouse, press play, and prepare to laugh.

🏡 Homework Assignment: The Question Game Date Night

Schedule a mini date night (at home, on a walk, or in the car—no pressure, no fancy plans required).

Each of you write down 5–10 questions to ask the other. Mix fun and meaningful. Try prompts like:

    • What’s a moment you felt most connected to me this year?
    • What’s something silly you still think about?
    • If we had a free weekend with no responsibilities, what would you want to do together?
    • What’s one habit you want to build as a couple?

Bonus reflection: After your date, journal or share with a friend one thing you learned and one thing you want to celebrate about your relationship!
