(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Timothy Reed British Christians get more culture pushback now Christians in the United Kingdom report experiencing greater cultural pressures because of their faith. While 88 percent of Evangelicals feel they can freely live out their faith in the country, a new survey by the Evangelical Alliance United Kingdom found that 48 percent believe it has become harder to practice their faith in public within the past five years. And 35 percent report experiencing non-criminal hostility for their faith in Christ. The survey noted, “For many evangelical Christians, the challenge is less about what the law says and more about how their conviction is perceived and received in an increasingly contested cultural landscape.” British Parliament passed pro-abortion amendments The Parliament of the United Kingdom passed pro-abortion amendments to the crime and policing bill last week. The measure removes criminal liability from women who end the lives of their unborn babies. The bill also gives automatic pardons for women who previously committed such “self-abortions.” Sir Edward Leigh, a conservative Member of Parliament, called this “a terrible indictment of our society that a human life can be taken when it is about to be born, at 39 weeks, and that there should be a free pardon in such a serious case.” Church in Wales approved blessing sexually perverted couples The Church in Wales approved blessings for people living sexually perverted lifestyles last week. Welsh Anglican leaders voted overwhelmingly in favor of the measure. It allows clergy to provide services of blessing for homosexual couples. This follows the denomination’s appointment last year of its first openly homosexual archbishop, Cherry Vann, who has a lesbian lover named Wendy Diamond, reported NBC News. Matthew Firth with the Free Church of England said that evangelical Anglicans in Wales will be “devastated today by this departure from the faith and will be looking for biblical alternative episcopal oversight.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” Should Catholic school staff be required to affirm biblical marriage & sexuality? In the United States, the U.S. Supreme Court announced it will hear another religious freedom case involving two Catholic schools in Colorado. The state excluded the schools from its preschool program for their religious beliefs. Specifically, the schools require staff to hold biblical views on marriage and sexuality. The schools have been challenging the decision since 2023. Nick Reaves, with The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, commented, “After three losses in religious freedom cases at the Supreme Court, Colorado should know better. The Supreme Court has repeatedly held that states cannot exclude families from government benefits because of their faith.” Virginia Democrats asking voters to approve tortured congressional map Virginia is asking voters to approve an outlandish Congressional map. The state, which is narrowly controlled by the Democrat party, is seeking to redistrict Republicans out of five Congressional seats, giving the Democrat party ten seats, while the Republicans would retain only one. Conservatives across the state have stepped up to fight the proposal, and Republican Representative Jen Kiggans stated, “We have a lot of momentum on our side. And as the funding has come in, we’ve been able to do more educating, more outreach to voters.” Polling shows the referendum as a tossup. Most popular Easter Bible verse on YouVersion The Bible app YouVersion reported its highest level of engagement ever on Resurrection Sunday earlier this month. The most popular verse during Easter season was Matthew 28:6. It says, “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” Bobby Gruenewald, founder and CEO of YouVersion, said, “Over the last several months, worldwide interest in the Bible has continued to increase. … Seeing people around the world encounter Scripture, many for the first time, is exactly why we do this.” 18-year-old Chick-fil-A employee finds & turns in $9,833 cash And finally, a Chick-fil-A employee in North Carolina found and returned $9,833 in cash earlier this month. Eighteen-year-old Jaydon Cintron discovered two envelopes in the men’s restroom during his usual break on the Friday before Resurrection Sunday. Kinston Police Chief Keith Goyette said many people would have taken the money and run with it. But Jaydon turned in the envelopes of cash. He credited his Christian faith for the responsible action. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Pope claims communion between Christians and Muslims Pope Leo XIV visited Algeria, Africa last week, and celebrated what he called “communion between Christians and Muslims” and the “shared aspiration for dignity, love, justice, and peace” -- whatever that is. Leo made no mention of the forced closure of Protestant churches as well as laws criminalizing evangelism, the distribution of Bibles, and posting Christian messages online. Out of the top ten countries in the world named for persecuting Christians, nine are Muslim-controlled nations. Psalm 12:1-2 is the cry of God’s people in every age: “Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. Everyone utters lies to his neighbor; they speak with flattering lips and a double heart.” Japan’s major earthquake On Monday, Japan was hit with a major 7.7 earthquake on the Richter scale located on the northeastern side of Honshu. That’s the biggest quake since 2015 to hit the island country. Experts are warning of another bigger quake potentially striking within a week. Fire on Borneo Island A huge fire displaced thousands on the Malaysian island of Borneo. Almost 1,000 homes were consumed in the fire. America’s drought today worse than Dust Bowl days of 1934 God’s hand is upon the United States. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Drought Monitor is registering worse drought conditions in America today than the Dust Bowl days of the Great Depression in 1934 — and the worst conditions since the monitor began in 1895. Over 60% of the 48 contiguous states are under moderate to exceptional drought conditions right now. That would include 97% of the Southeast, and 65% of the West. Also, the Drought Monitor places the last ten years, running from 2017 to 2026, as equally as severe as the ten years running from 1932 to 1941. These will be the two worst drought periods in recorded history for this country. In Leviticus 26:18-20, God warns of national droughts. He said, “If you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your Earth like bronze. And your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its produce, nor shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.” President Trump vs. Rep. Chip Roy on “no-warrant surveillance” President Donald Trump has drawn criticism after expressing his support for the reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act 702, which gives the government power to spy on citizens, in what is known as “no-warrant surveillance.” President Trump took to Truth Social, asking House Republicans to pass a “clean extension of FISA 702.” Back in 2024, Trump wrote, “KILL FISA, IT WAS ILLEGALLY USED AGAINST ME, AND MANY OTHERS.” Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas explained to Fox News why Americans should be wary of federal overreach. Listen. ROY: “As one of my colleagues, Michael Cloud, said the other day: ‘Never does the intelligence community ever walk into the room and say, ‘Hey guys, you know what? We have all this power to go look at a lot of stuff. You know, today we're going to give some of it back.’ “That literally never happens. So, Congress, representing the people, has to say, ‘Hold on. We need to stand up for people, make sure they're being protected.” Democrats trying to impeach War Secretary Pete Hegseth House Democrats are working to impeach War Secretary Pete Hegseth over his role in the Iran War, reports News Nation. The impeachment articles, crafted by Democratic Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari of Arizona, allege that the Secretary of War “broke his oath to the Constitution, put U.S. troops at grave risk through the unauthorized disclosure of classified information, and engaged in abuse of office and conduct beneath the dignity of his office.” Eight Democrats are co-sponsoring the resolution, which is all but ensured to fail as Republicans control the House and Senate. 60% of Americans: Abortion should be legal in most cases Sixty percent of Americans now say abortion should be legal in most cases. That’s the latest revelation from Pew Research. That’s up from 51% in 2015 -- 10 years ago. Plus, 66% of younger Millennials, those between their late 20s and early 30s, take this pro-abortion position compared to 57% of those over 65. Among the 50 U.S. states, only Arkansas was pro-life in that the majority wanted abortion illegal in most cases. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Government Convicts Nearly 400 on Terrorism Charges A federal high court in Abuja, Nigeria, has convicted 386 people on terrorism charges in one of the largest mass convictions in recent times. Those convicted were linked to Islamic State West Africa Province or to Boko Haram, a deadly terrorist group founded in northern Nigeria, reports International Christian Concern. The convictions come as the Nigerian government faces significant pressure from the United States to curb terrorism within its borders and to more effectively protect vulnerable Christian communities caught up in the violence perpetrated by these Islamist terrorist groups. Reports indicate that the Muslim terrorists convicted received sentences ranging from five years to life in prison. Authorities originally charged 508 individuals. Two were acquitted, eight were discharged, and 112 cases were adjourned. Former Virginia Lt. Gov shot and killed wife & self in murder-suicide A Virginia police chief delivered disturbing news at a press conference yesterday about a murder-suicide, reports NewsNation. DAVIS: “Former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax shot and killed his wife inside of their home and then shot and killed himself.” Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis said the husband and wife were found dead at their home in Annandale, Virginia, on Thursday. Former Lt. Gov. Fairfax was recently served some paperwork associated with an upcoming divorce court proceeding which led to the incident. While they were separated they were still living in the same home. Davis said the couple’s two teenage children were at the home when Fairfax shot his wife, Cerina, “several times” before running to a different part of the house and turning the gun on himself. The shooting took place shortly after midnight, and police said one son called 911. Both Fairfax and his wife were pronounced dead at the scene. The police chief added, “Tragic for the children to lose both parents. Extra tragic for them to actually be in the home when it occurred.” ABC’s Joy Behar: Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah On April 14th, Joy Behar, the self-professed agnostic on ABC’s talk show The View, asserted that Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah, reports The Christian Post. BEHAR: “Jesus Himself did not run around saying, ‘I'm the Messiah. I'm the Messiah.’” SARA HAINES: "That’s exactly what Jesus said!" BEHAR: "No he did not. Jesus was more modest than that. Jesus was not narcissistic like this guy [Trump]." HAINES: "When you are the Messiah, it’s not narcissism to say it!" BEHAR: “Yes it is.” In John 4:25-26, Jesus had a conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well. “The woman said, ‘I know that Messiah’ (called Christ) ‘is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.’ Then Jesus declared, ‘I, the one speaking to you—I am He.’” In John 16:15-17, Jesus asked His disciples, “‘But what about you? Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you… for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in Heaven.’” And in Mark 14:61-62, the high priest questioned Jesus and asked Him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” Jesus replied, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One.” More U.S. young men attend church More young men in America report that they attend church, or other houses of worship, at least monthly, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday, reports The Washington Post. Forty percent of men, ages 18 to 29, attend religious services monthly or more often. That’s a seven percentage point increase from 2023, and the highest percentage who have reported doing so since 2013. Pockets of young Americans, especially men, are joining faith communities and driving increased attendance at church and religious gatherings. Although women have historically been more religious than men, male and female attendance at houses of worship, for people under 30, is now statistically tied. Martin Luther refused to recant on April 18, 1521 And finally, 505 years ago, on April 18th, 1521, Martin Luther was called before Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms to recant his teaching which rejected the authority of the Catholic Church and underscored the authority of Scripture. Luther uttered these immortal words that day that launched the Protestant Reformation, depicted here in the 2003 movie entitled “Luther.” Listen.
