He explains the difference between misinformation (accidental false information) and disinformation (deliberately deceptive information). David gives us some examples of how generative AI can be misused to create fake but convincing images, videos, voices, reviews etc to spread disinformation. This is discussed in the context of politics, business/marketing, and online retail. He looks at the need to fact-check AI-generated content and not take it at face value and, suggest governments may need to legislate and regulate to curb this threat of disinformation.
