We want to start off by wishing all of the fathers, stepfather's, soon to be fathers, and father figures, a wonderful day and blessings to come. We go briefly around the horn and discuss Father's Day family celebrations, road trip planning, rental car tips, graduations, and new jobs. Plus a quick but educational difference on two Italian desserts.

The recovery segment is all about navigating fatherhood in sobriety. Dan discusses what life was like having a child before he got sober, juxtaposing that with having another child a few years after he got sober. The three of us talk about the joys of being dads and what we love the most. We also talk about how difficult it can be to be a first time father, especially in early sobriety. How a spiritual foundation and good support network is invaluable. We end the segment and the show with a couple of quick hitter questions designed to be fun and lighthearted about being a father and advice we would give to new fathers.

Greg shares the trials and tribulations of Chinese buffets and the high scores of kid pitch baseball for a young age group. The boys also briefly touch on the UFC showdown at the White House that was happening as recording was going on.

In the recovery segment, we look beyond the first 30 days and into that crucial first year. We talk about growing up, learning life skills, finding purpose, staying active in recovery, and resisting the temptation to think we've got it all figured out. From day labor to early sobriety jobs we thought we'd never make it out of. Halfway house memories. We look back on these times as simple and straightforward. We realize that the weight of addiction was being lifted right before our eyes so long as we stayed on the simple path that was being laid out in front of us.

The recovery segment is all about each of our experiences in the first 30 days of sobriety. Mostly not including when any of us were in rehab, but when we all got to the rooms of recovery and started to hear the message. Each of us talk about those experiences and what those days were like. For all of us it was a very simple time. We discuss how certain moments and certain key people in those days were finally important and without them, we don't know where we would be. We each take a turn describing what “kept us coming back."
