  • The Last Ride: The Unsolved Murder of Monica Bercier-Wickre
    2026/04/09

More than 30 years ago, a night out in Aberdeen, South Dakota ended in silence.

On April 7, 1993, 42-year-old mother of three Monica Bercier-Wickre went out to a local bar called The Body Shop. It was a normal night—one she had no reason to believe would be her last. At some point that evening, Monica left with a couple she knew and a man she didn’t.

    She never made it home.

Two months later, her body was discovered in the James River. But instead of answers, her recovery only deepened the mystery. The condition of her remains made it impossible to determine exactly what happened to her—and despite decades of investigation, no one has ever been held accountable.

In this episode of Vanished Voices, we take a deep, story-driven look at Monica’s life, her final night, and the long, painful aftermath her family has endured. From her roots on the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa reservation to the unanswered questions surrounding the people she was last seen with, this case is filled with gaps that have never been fully explained.

We explore what investigators knew, what may have been lost over time, and how turnover, limited forensic evidence, and early investigative gaps may have impacted the case. We also examine how Monica’s story fits into the broader crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, where cases are too often overlooked, underreported, or left unresolved.

But at the center of this story is Monica—not just a case, but a mother, a daughter, a woman who loved music, who showed up for her family, and who was excited to become a grandmother.

Her daughter, Tonya, is still searching for answers.

    Her family is still waiting.

And someone still knows what happened.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in Monica’s case.

If you have any information about Monica Bercier-Wickre’s disappearance or murder, please contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 605-626-7100.

If you were in Aberdeen in April of 1993… if you were at The Body Shop… if you remember anything about the people Monica left with… even the smallest detail could matter.

Because after more than three decades, this case is still waiting for the one piece that changes everything.

And Monica’s story deserves to be heard.

  • The Space Between: The Disappearance of Adrienne Salinas
    2026/04/02

On the morning of June 15, 2013, 19-year-old Adrienne Celeste Salinas vanished just blocks from her Tempe, Arizona apartment.

She had spent the night at a party with friends—surrounded by people, in a place she felt safe. But by the early morning hours, something had shifted. After leaving, returning, and then leaving again around 4:00 a.m., Adrienne walked out into the quiet streets of Tempe… and was never seen alive again.

What followed is a timeline filled with movement—but very little clarity.

A mysterious crash near Rio Salado Parkway.
A damaged car, abandoned just blocks from home.
A cab ride confirmed, and then abandoned.

Months later, Adrienne’s remains were found miles away—turning a missing persons case into something far more devastating.

But even now, more than a decade later, the most critical question remains:

What happened in the space between?

In this episode of Vanished Voices, we walk through Adrienne’s final hours step by step—unpacking the timeline, the investigation, the inconsistencies, and the haunting gaps that still remain. From the party that night… to the crash… to the last known sightings… this is a case defined not just by what we know—but by everything we don’t.

Because sometimes, the most important moments…
are the ones no one can fully explain.

If you have any information about the disappearance and death of Adrienne Celeste Salinas, no matter how small it may seem, please contact the Tempe Police Department at (480) 350-8311 or submit a tip through the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Even the smallest detail—something you may not have thought mattered at the time—could help bring answers to Adrienne’s family.

Someone knows what happened. And your voice could make the difference.

  • What Happened to Katelyn Kelley?
    2026/03/26

In June 2020, 22-year-old Katelyn Kelley vanished from the Menominee Indian Reservation in northeastern Wisconsin.

She was seen near County Highway VV and Silver Canoe Road late at night. Hours later, she was reportedly at her apartment in nearby Shawano. Then—she disappeared.

Her family knew something was wrong almost immediately. Katelyn wasn’t the kind of person to just stop answering calls or walk away from her life. As days turned into weeks, searches expanded across roads, forests, and waterways. Investigators publicly stated they believed someone may have given Katelyn a ride that night—and asked that person to come forward.

Nine months later, in March 2021, human remains were discovered on the Menominee Reservation. They were identified as Katelyn.

But even now, years later, her case remains unsolved.

In this episode of Vanished Voices, we walk through Katelyn’s final known movements, the critical timeline investigators have shared, and the questions that still have no answers. We also take a closer look at the Menominee Reservation, the challenges of investigating cases across jurisdictions, and why so many Indigenous cases remain unresolved.

If you know anything about Katelyn Kelley’s disappearance, you are urged to contact the Menominee Tribal Police Department at (715) 799-5806, or the Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Missing & Exploited Children & Adults at 1-800-843-4673 or wisconsinclearinghouse@doj.state.wi.us.

    Someone knows something.

    And Katelyn deserves justice.
