  • TNA Slammiversary Stips and AEW Forbidden Door Takes Forever
    2026/06/29
The 2026 iteration of AEW’s Forbidden Door was already designed to be an endurance test for professional wrestling fans, boasting a massive nine-match main card packed with heavy-hitting cross-promotional "dream matches" and high-stakes tournament finals. From a wild, 12-man "Death's Door" steel cage match featuring exploding bags and thumbtacks to grueling, physical encounters like Will Ospreay’s blood-soaked victory over Swerve Strickland, the event stretched deep into the evening. The sheer volume of storytelling, coupled with technical hiccups like backstage audio issues during Mark Briscoe's promo, meant that fans in San Jose and watching at home had to settle in for a marathon broadcast that demanded total attention over several hours. However, the night was rendered even longer and more exhausting by the overwhelming presence of competing events from rival promotions running simultaneously. Hardcore wrestling enthusiasts found themselves trapped in a multi-screen juggling act as TNA Wrestling presented its signature Slammiversary event earlier in the afternoon, while WWE’s NXT brand countered directly with its Great American Bash. With major title changes and high-profile highlights occurring across all three major platforms on the exact same day, the wrestling landscape felt oversaturated. What should have been a singular, historic celebration of international collaboration instead became a grueling test of fandom, artificially prolonged by promotional warfare that left even the most dedicated viewers completely burnt out by the time the final bell rang.TNA Slammiversary 2026 proved to be an unforgettable night of high-stakes drama, defined by an incredibly dense concentration of specialized match stipulations that raised the physical and psychological stakes for almost every storyline on the card. The event kicked off with a pair of highly competitive pre-show bouts, which saw Elayna Black outlast Indi Hartwell and Mara Sadè in a fast-paced triple threat match, while Ricky Sosa secured a massive singles victory over the veteran Eric Young. Once the main card commenced, the pure chaos of TNA's signature stipulations took center stage. Cedric Alexander successfully retained his TNA X Division Championship in a breathtaking Ultimate X match, navigating the structural steel wires to pull down his title against a massive field of challengers including Amazing Red, Fabian Aichner, Frankie Kazarian, KC Navarro, Leon Slater, and Mr. Elegance. The theme of intense, multi-man physical jeopardy carried over into the heavily crowded tag team divisions. In the Knockouts tag team ranks, the beloved duo of DemonXBunny, featuring Rosemary and Allie, overcame the outside interference of Ash by Elegance and The Personal Concierge to defeat The Elegance Brand's Heather and M by Elegance, capturing the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. Not to be outdone, the men’s tag team division descended into total wreckage during a grueling Four-Way Ladder match. The legendary Broken Hardys, Broken Matt and Brother Nero, tapped into their historic specialty to retrieve the TNA World Tag Team Championships, defeating the reigning champions The System, alongside the dangerous pairings of The Righteous and The Great Hands. The evening's singles championships featured unexpected twists and major changing of the guard. Mustafa Ali kept a firm grip on his TNA International Championship by surviving an unpredictable open challenge, pinning his way to victory in a chaotic triple threat match against Rich Swann and Uhaa Nation. History was made in the women's division when Xia Brookside shocked the locker room by defeating Léi Yǐng Lee to become the new TNA Knockouts World Champion. The night culminated in an emotional heavyweight main event where Nic Nemeth finally cashed in his coveted "Call Your Shot" championship opportunity, overcoming a valiant effort from Mike Santana to walk out as the new TNA World Champion.Beyond the standard championship pursuits, the bulk of the card relied on deeply personal and legally binding stipulations to resolve bitter, long-running feuds. The singles match between Elijah and A. J. Francis was fueled by corporate greed and creative identity, carrying a severe clause where an Elijah loss would have granted Francis total ownership of his real name, likeness, and entire music catalog. Meanwhile, the blood feud between Moose and Eddie Edwards required the extreme environment of a No Surrender match to reach its breaking point. By removing standard pinfalls and submissions, the rules dictated that the violence would only stop when a competitor's cornerman literally threw in the towel, resulting in a grueling war of attrition where Moose ultimately forced Edwards' camp to capitulate. By weaving these unique legal wagers, airborne structures, and psychological torture tactics into the fabric of the show, Slammiversary 2026 successfully emphasized a "no safety net" environment where ...

  • Sami Zayn's Saudi Midsummer Night's Dream at Night of Champions
    2026/06/28
WWE’s trek to Saudi Arabia for Night of Champions felt less like a premium live event and more like a booking fever dream that overstayed its welcome.

The tournament finals lacked any real sense of grandeur; Oba Femi ran right through Jey Uso to claim the King of the Ring crown, while Iyo Sky neutralized Liv Morgan to secure the Queen of the Ring honors—both predictable steps on a corporate road to SummerSlam.

Elsewhere on the card, creative inertia ruled the day as Seth Rollins halted Bron Breakker's momentum inside a steel cage, Trick Williams relied on outside distractions from Lil Yachty to retain his United States Championship against Ricky Saints, and Tiffany Stratton escaped with her Women's United States Championship by pinning Jade Cargill after a cheap intervention. But the true creative misstep came in the main event, where Sami Zayn shocked the world by pinning Cody Rhodes in a triple threat match that also featured Gunther.

While management clearly wanted a sentimental, fairy-tale pop for the crowd, hot-shotting the Undisputed WWE Championship onto an underdog figure like Zayn completely deflates the high-stakes gravity built up by Rhodes and Gunther. It was a hollow, shortsighted climax to a thoroughly mediocre show, proving that WWE would rather chase a fleeting, romantic narrative moment than protect its most credible main-event assets.

  • Corporate Overlord Capture of WWE and TNA is Complete
    2026/06/25
In a stark illustration of professional wrestling’s ongoing corporate consolidation, Tommy Dreamer’s departure from TNA has quickly unraveled into a broader controversy.

The ECW legend and longtime TNA creative contributor announced a mutual parting of ways with the company last week as part of Anthem’s “workforce reduction,” alongside other exits. What began as a seemingly amicable split rapidly escalated when multiple wrestlers came forward with allegations of bullying, inappropriate behavior, and unprofessional conduct during Dreamer’s tenure behind the scenes.

Accusations ranged from threats to derail careers and racially insensitive comments to uncomfortable match spots involving female talent that crossed professional boundaries.

While some voices, including supporters like Mickie James, have defended Dreamer’s passion and historical contributions to the industry, the timing and volume of claims have fueled intense debate about accountability in a business still grappling with its “old school” rough edges versus modern standards of conduct.

Paul Heyman, the legendary “Wise Man” and one of wrestling’s sharpest minds, has executed a notable tonal shift—or at least a full-throated endorsement—of the current WWE regime under Triple H and TKO Group Holdings.

In recent comments, Heyman lavished praise on Paul “Triple H” Levesque as the ideal Chief Content Officer, highlighting his collaborative style, ability to pivot with the cultural landscape, and talent for elevating performers by amplifying their natural strengths rather than forcing conformity.

Heyman emphasized Triple H’s brilliance in crafting storylines that drive box office, intrigue, and character development in today’s media environment.

This stands in contrast to the more adversarial or skeptical tones some veterans once held toward corporate structures or prior leadership eras, now reframed as enthusiastic support for WWE’s direction post-Vince McMahon under TKO’s influence—signaling a broader industry realignment where even iconic outsiders like Heyman are aligning with the dominant corporate vision.

Together, these stories paint a picture of wrestling’s power centers tightening: TNA’s creative shakeups and reputational hits amid partnership with WWE, and Heyman’s public pivot reinforcing the narrative that the future belongs to the well-resourced machine.
