Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth's "forerunners." The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. Nico, a young dragon of barely fifty, is rudely chased from his home by a group of murderous adventurers. Of his entire clutch, only he and one sister remained, but now he is alone. Isolated and hungry, Nico’s magic awakens, bonding him with Cami, a brave young woman. To hide from the adventurers’ pursuit, Nico takes on human form. However, once they discover that both he and Cami have magical abilities, they are required by law to attend the Imperial Academy.

Nico's understanding of the world continues to grow. He has encountered Draconis and realizes he can't count on help from the great wyrm. Now, Nico must learn to ride the storm and add his second class. Evolution awaits, as do new threats and new allies.

Something always goes sideways, but this is bigger than expected. Maybe it's not an entirely bad thing, though, as mana-infected animals spreading over the world would definitely make everyone more open to the idea of the apocalypse. The question is what was Silas supposed to do about it, though. He still couldn't tell anyone who wasn't inducted about the system. It was time to get creative. If that wasn't enough, though, he still had the wild hunt hanging over his head. Seven days to go, and then he'd be thrown into whatever twisted event the system had cooked up for him.

Silas is growing into the responsibilities weighing him down. Earth is struggling, but there is hope. The deals that Silas has made have brought resources and trainers to Earth. He's helped some leaders gain an understanding of what they will face. His team has continued to grow but now he finds himself facing the greatest challenge to any Forerunner, the Wild Hunt. He'll be hunted but also have to hunt other Forerunners while forging a shaky alliance with those he can't trust. Even more disturbing, it seems like there might be more than one system to choose from.

Growing stronger has brought its own challenges as Silas is more of a target than ever. Worse, the Earth and its allies become targets too. Decisions have been made and obligations accrued. The threats exist at many levels, but the one that must be dealt with first is one that doesn't seem to have any agenda but raw destruction. Silas must walk his own path and create a new way if he wants a future that diverges from the horrors he has been shown.

As a new dungeon core, he's full of endless potential, but only if he can survive long enough. To do that he'll need to not just grow stronger but he'll have to recruit allies and minions, all so that he won't fall the greed of some drougar.
