Aliens have invaded Earth. They landed in the oceans, raised biologically evolved armies, and struck every coast on the globe at once. This isn't a war that the Pentagon had ever planned for. Now the US has suffered major losses, and most coastal cities are swarming with aliens.

Staff Sergeant Chet Chisholm has been handed orders from the top Marine Corps brass. Go to the brig, find the right personnel there, and offer them a chance to expunge their criminal records if they choose to fight.

Can anyone turn a group of the Marine Corps' worst into a combat unit? When the shooting starts, will they be all they can be, or will they turn tail and run? It's going to take every trick in the book for Chisholm to beat these reprobates into shape. The odds are against him—but then again, Chisholm doesn't play by the rules any more than his squad does.
