Our Focus today: Peace in the Midst of Uncertainty

Scripture: John 20:19–21

For the next seven Wednesdays, we’ll journey together toward Pentecost—the outpouring of the Spirit and the birth of the New Testament church. In this bright new season, our focus is on the risen Jesus and His visits with His friends. Each story is a window into the hope He offers us still.

Today, we step into that upper room after the resurrection. The disciples are hiding, hearts weighed down by fear and grief, their dreams shattered. Maybe you know that feeling—doors locked by anxiety, spirit heavy with uncertainty. Yet Jesus appears, not to scold, but to comfort. His first words then are His words to you now: “Peace be with you.”

You don’t have to fix yourself or overcome your fear. Jesus comes to you exactly where you are. His peace isn’t earned; it’s a gift. He steps through every barrier—grief, doubt, worry—and fills our hearts with hope and a promise of His presence. This week, let those words settle deep within. No matter how thick the walls or heavy the sorrow, the risen Christ brings comfort to mourners, beauty for ashes, and praise for despair. Receive His peace, restoration, and joy.

Let us pray:

Redeeming Jesus, thank You for breaking through every wall of fear, grief, shame, and regret in my life. Fill my heart with Your hope, peace, and joy. Lift condemnation from my soul and set me free by Your love. Let Your presence heal every wound and restore what was lost. I trust You to cover my past, transform my present, and lead me with confidence into the future. My Redeemer lives. Amen.

Heavenly Father, today, on this Bright Monday—Renewal Monday—we celebrate the ongoing victory of Jesus over the grave and the hope that fills our hearts because of the Resurrection.

Just as the angel proclaimed the good news at the empty tomb, we receive your message of new life and redemptive power in our lives and workplaces.

Risen Lord, as we return to our routines after Resurrection Sunday, fill us with hope and peace.

Remind us that your victory gives us fresh beginnings, renewed purpose, and strength for every challenge we face at work.

Empower us to carry the light of the Resurrection, reflecting your power to overcome every obstacle and bring solutions to every problem.

Guide our words and actions to foster unity, build others up, and serve with excellence.

Jesus, when we face difficulties or discouragement, renew our confidence that you are with us, working all things together for good.

Make us agents of change, open new paths, and let your spirit of signs, wonders, and miracles accompany us in our work.

May your favor rest upon us, your wisdom increase in us, and your discernment guide us.

Let the promise of resurrection inspire our work with joy, gratitude, and faith, knowing our labor is never in vain.

Happy Easter Monday, Friends. Go forth in the grace and power of the resurrected life!

Holy God, as we reach this final Wednesday of Lent, we pause before the mystery of Holy Week.

We remember that before resurrection comes suffering, and before the dawn there is darkness.

Like the disciples, we carry questions, sorrow, and confusion—uncertain of what comes next.

You invite us to bring our pain, our doubts, and our silence honestly before you, trusting that you meet us even in the shadows.

Jesus, help us to sit with you in the garden, to not run from the weight of grief or the unknown.

Remind us that faith does not mean skipping over suffering, but learning to trust you in the midst of it.

As we walk through the pain and silence of Holy Thursday, the agony of Good Friday, and the emptiness of Silent Saturday, let us know that you are present—working in ways we cannot see.

Give us the courage to name our hurts and hopes to you.

Shape us through the mystery, and prepare us for the promise of resurrection.

May our hearts be open to the depth of your love, which redeems even our darkest nights. We wait, we trust, and we hope. Amen.

Challenge: This week, allow yourself to sit honestly with your questions, grief, or confusion—write them down, pray them, and trust Christ to meet you there. Resist the urge to rush ahead; embrace the mystery and let hope quietly take root in the waiting.

Our Focus today in prayer is to Let Go and Let God: Trusting Jesus with our Business and Work

Lord of Lords, King of Kings, as we enter Holy Week on this Monday after Palm Sunday, we bring our work, businesses, and daily responsibilities before you.

In the midst of deadlines, decisions, and demands, teach us to let go and let you lead.

Release us from the need to control every outcome or carry burdens that are too heavy for us.

Help us surrender anxieties, frustrations, and habits that keep us from your peace and purpose.

May your Spirit guide us in every task, meeting, and conversation this week.

Grant us wisdom as owners and leaders, diligence for workers, and unity for teams.

When fear or uncertainty arises, remind us that your plans are greater than our own and your power is made perfect in our weakness.

Fill our workplaces with your blessings, your favor, and your prosperity.

Lord, as we look ahead to the promise of Easter, renew our hearts with hope.

Let every act of surrender open us to your blessing, creativity, and favor.

Teach us to trust you more deeply—not just in our faith, but in our work and ambitions.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Gracious Lord, as we enter the sixth Wednesday of Lent, we pause to consider the beauty and freedom found in true surrender.

You invite us to commit our ways to you and trust that you will act on our behalf.

Today, we lay down the burdens we cling to—our fears, anxieties, and the desire to control every outcome.

May we let go and let you lead, believing that you are working behind the scenes for our good, even when we cannot see it.

Help us to move from striving to resting in your promises, from anxiety to assurance.

Remind us that surrender is not weakness, but an act of deep faith and consecration.

Show us what we need to release so that our hearts can be fully yours.

May our surrender become an offering, a declaration that we trust you more than our own understanding.

Give us peace when answers don’t come quickly and patience when your timing is different than ours.

Let the gift of surrender bring us closer to your heart, filling us with hope and courage for whatever lies ahead. In all things, we choose to trust you. Amen.

Today our prayer focus is being the light in the workplace. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we praise you for the privilege of making a difference through our work.

Thank you for the opportunity to be a positive influence in our workplace.

Fill us today with boldness, kindness, and wisdom so that our words and actions reflect your love and truth.

Grant us discernment to respond to every challenge and conflict with grace and patience.

Let our work ethic and attitude point others to Christ and inspire hope in those around us.

We pray for our colleagues, clients, and all those in our industry—may your light shine, solving problems, guiding with wisdom and insight, and providing the necessary service with excellence.

Use us as your vessel to bring peace where there is tension, to bring restoration, where there is devastation, and to build bridges where there is division.

Help us to be a light in every circumstance, reflecting your goodness and compassion to all we encounter.

May your presence fill our workplace, and may your love be evident in everything we do.

Guide us to walk in your ways, help us to prosper and glorify you through our work. Amen.

Faithful God, as we come to the fifth Wednesday of Lent, we set our hearts on the hope you offer us—an anchor in the storms, a light in uncertain times.

Your Word tells us to hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, so today we choose to trust your promises even when we cannot see the outcome.

Help us to anchor our souls in you, Lord Jesus, the Christ, drawing strength and peace from your unfailing love.

When doubts rise and circumstances threaten to shake us, remind us that your plans are for our good and your faithfulness never wavers.

Give us the courage to speak hope, to expect your best, and to see beyond our present challenges.

Inspire us to be bold in our faith, trusting that your power is at work in ways we may not yet understand.

Let our hope be contagious, uplifting those around us and pointing them to your goodness.

May our faith dare to reach further, believe deeper, and stand stronger.

Thank you for that. In you, hope is never wasted, and your promises never fail.

We hold fast to your truth and rejoice in your steadfast love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Today, our prayer focus is on carrying our cross.

Lord Jesus, thank you for the calling and responsibility of our work.

Today, we ask for the strength to face challenges with humility and patience, relying on you in every trial as if we are carrying our cross in the marketplace.

Grant us the grace to deny selfishness and put the needs of others before our own, following your example of sacrificial love.

Give us the courage to stand up for what is right, even when it comes at a personal cost.

Help us to persevere through difficulties, trusting that you are shaping our character and drawing us closer to your heart.

May we commit our daily tasks and decisions to your leadership, seeking your wisdom above our own understanding.

We lift up our coworkers and leaders who may be burdened—grant them the help they need, and provide your comfort, strength, and guidance in their lives.

Teach us to bear our cross with faith, trusting in your power to bring good from every situation.
