  • Diaspora Duty: James Lester on his Trinidad & Tobago call-up
    2026/04/01

A huge international break saw the final World Cup places decided, with some of our Diaspora Duty contingent confirming their summer plans. Burnley defender Axel Tuanzebe scored his first DR Congo goal to see off a Jamaica side that handed a debut to a London-born Spurs youngster in their crucial play-off. Meanwhile, in Europe, Graham Potter led Sweden to a remarkable qualification after failing to win any games in their group stage (respect the Nations League, folks).

Elsewhere, Somalia made the group stage of AFCON Qualifying for the first time in their history, thanks in part to three British born or raised starters (including Baller League headline-maker Sak Hassan), South Londoner Martial Godo gets a goal and assist on his first Ivory Coast senior cap, while a debut Austria goal for Carney Chukwuemeka sends a dagger to Ghanaian hearts to perhaps appease any Nigerian fans he chose not to play for...

Plus, a special interview with 19-year-old Llanelli defender James Lester, who was a surprise call-up for Trinidad & Tobago in this international break. We hear about his family connection to the Soca Warriors and his experience jetting from the Cymru Premier to Bolivia!

  • Harry Kane enters Bayern's all-time Top 10
    2026/03/24

This week, we reflect on some of the Brits abroad in club football over the weekend, before looking ahead to the international break and those on Diaspora Duty.

Trent Alexander-Arnold still contributed to the the Madrid derby after being dropped for punctuality, Scott McTominay is labelled Napoli's Jesus Christ after returning from injury with a winning goal, while Harry Kane is up to 133 goals for Bayern munich inside three years.

In international football, there are first call-ups for Brits switching nationality to countries across Africa, including a Sheffield United teenager stepping up for Eritrea's first competitive game in seven years, while Dublin-born, London-raised Sunderland left back Dennis Cirkin answers the call from Latvia. We look ahead to some massive World Cup play-offs and the diaspora involved, plus we discuss Wolves teenager Mateus Mané switching between Portugal and England at will...

  • Ashley Cole takes Italian club job!
    2026/03/17

Big news in Italy for us as Serie B side Cesena appoint legendary England full back Ashley Cole as their new head coach. We discuss this surprise appointment and what he has to look forward to for the remainder of the campaign.

In Saudi Arabia, Brendan Rodgers' Al Qadsiah side faced off against Ivan Toney's Ah-Ahli, with chaos ensuing on and off the pitch. Raheem Sterling makes another positive contribution for Feyenoord and Wilfried Zaha suggests his rough treatment in MLS may lead to his time across the Atlantic not being extended.

Elsewhere, as the next international break nears, there are some fascinating first call-ups for Bris on Diaspora Duty, including two Cymru Premier League players on duty for Trinidad & Tobago and Zimbabwe, while in the international dugouts a former Leeds United manager is appointed Indonesia no.2 and legendary journeyman Stephen Constantine reunites with one of his former national sides...

  • Keinan Davis, keep your phone close!
    2026/03/10

It's been a big week for the Brits in Serie A, with Kieron Bowie getting his first goal for Hellas Verona since signing in January, and Fikayo Tomori getting a clean sheet in the Milan derby. Meanwhile, Udinese striker Keinan Davis is high up the goalscoring charts... could it lead to a call-up (and for who)?

Elsewhere, we salute Christian Burgess as he marks 250 games for Union SG in style, Raheem Sterling makes his first start for Feyenoord, and a Sunderland youngster gets called up for Armenia...
