    It's no secret that private equity has been consolidating home service businesses in almost every market across the country.     Most of you remember Evan Hoffman as the magnetic host of "HVAC Success Secrets Revealed", now the host of the Let's Vent Podcast. In this episode we cover a range of things like life, working in the trades, and some tough personal topics.


    Evan serves as a Fractional CMO with Free Agency, which means companies pay him to do the marketing strategy without having to give him a desk or health insurance, truly the dream. Evan Hoffman began his career in HVAC as a "Comfort Advisor," which is somehow a real job title and means he got paid to walk into people's homes and convince them their AC unit was basically a ticking time bomb. He was very good at this.Naturally, the next logical step was publishing three neighborhood magazines simultaneously, because if there's one thing a man who sells air conditioners is qualified to do, it's journalism. He did this for five years with Best Version Media before pivoting to owning a digital marketing agency focused on home services.. a venture that ended in 2024 when his business partner asked him to leave, which Evan prefers to describe as "an amicable parting of ways" and everyone else describes as "getting kicked out." During this same era, he co-hosted HVAC Success Secrets Revealed for 250 episodes, proving that if you can make heating and cooling compelling for that long, you can make anything a podcast.Today, He also hosts Let's Vent, a podcast he launched in 2025 that is either a masterclass in emotional intelligence or a natural consequence of everything listed above.
