  • Pulau Tioman and the Bald Eagle
    2026/06/16

This week, Cap’n Davo heads for Pulau Tioman in search of a mysterious jade lion, armed with nothing more than second-hand intelligence from Captain Sinbad’s secret Facebook group and an optimistic belief that things probably won’t get weird.

    They get weird immediately.

First, a highly organised amphibious assault by a gang of beer-stealing pirate monkeys. Then a derelict yacht sitting suspiciously low in the water. Then a missing crew. Then a centuries-old jade lion. Then a mysterious bearded sailor known only as Captain C, who appears out of nowhere aboard the ketch Mintaka and delivers exactly the kind of advice that makes sensible people leave immediately.

Naturally, Davo ignores several warning signs before eventually deciding that perhaps the flooding ghost yacht full of unanswered questions is somebody else’s problem.

    Featuring:

    • Tactical macaque piracy
    • The theft of a perfectly good Steinlager Pure
    • Questionable decision making under humanitarian grounds
    • A boat that should not be there
    • A jade lion that definitely belongs in a future disaster
    • The most suspiciously helpful Englishman in the South China Sea

By sunrise, the crew of the Bald Eagle are still missing.

By nightfall, the Bald Eagle is gone.

And somehow, that’s only the beginning.

Put the beers on ice, keep an eye on your charts, and whatever you do… watch out for the monkeys.

  • The salty crocodile
    2026/06/10

You pay obscene marina fees for peace, prestige, and waterfront luxury.

What you don’t expect… is a saltwater crocodile squatting on your berth like it pays maintenance fees.

This week on Cap’n Davo’s True Tales, Davo and Finnigan relive the day a prehistoric murder sausage casually rocked up to one of Singapore’s fanciest marinas and decided: “Nice place. Mine now.”

Cue marina managers quietly losing the will to live, rich boat owners suddenly rediscovering religion, and Davo offering the kind of crocodile-handling advice that absolutely should not be legal.

    Featuring:
    - A crocodile with zero respect for private property
    - Davo’s dangerously confident “expertise”
    - Peak marina chaos and maritime incompetence
    - One Harbourmaster having the worst week of his career
    - Very expensive boats suddenly feeling extremely vulnerable

Questions raised in this episode include:
Can a crocodile legally own a berth?

How many beers before bad ideas become “marine solutions”?

And why does every disaster somehow involve Davo?

  • The ghosts of Puau Hantu
    2026/06/03

Midnight. Pulau Hantu. A broken schedule, a fuel filter mutiny, and one very drunk man on a perfectly maintained Grand Banks who may or may not own Ghost Island through a highly unofficial agreement with the supernatural.

Cap’n Davo, Finnigan and the Lady in Red arrive at Singapore’s most haunted anchorage expecting peace, quiet, and maybe a decent night at anchor.

Instead, they find Captain Johnny — loud, sunburnt, mysteriously respected by the spirits, and deeply opinionated about boat brands, beer quality, and proper ghost etiquette.

Apparently, the dead have standards. No trance music. No shouting. No cheap whisky.

And if something knocks on the hull at 3AM?

    Knock back.

Ghost stories. Maritime nonsense. Questionable decision-making. One suspicious light on the reef flat.

Completely factual maritime adventures. Or close enough.

    Listen now to discover:
    • Why Pulau Hantu is called Ghost Island
    • The unofficial maritime treaty between Captain Johnny and the spirits
    • Why a shiny yacht fled the island at 2AM
    • What appeared on the reef flat after midnight
    • And why some things are better left unwritten
